Do ferrets bite and do they make good first pets for kids under 10 years of age because i really want one?

ok i was thinking of gettin a ferret from petco and i dont know if they will bite becuse i think it was on spike right after 1000 ways to die idk? i forgot but there was this lil girl n frum when she was a baby a ferret climed into her crib n ate her face. so like her noes eyes n mouth looks dislocated n descusting so she went to go and get plasic surgery so it kind of made me worry about them should i get them or not? n do they make good pets?
