Boyfriend or med school?

i dont know if i should go to med school or stay with my boyfriend of 6 years. i am 21 years old. i knew i always wanted to be a doctor because i had open heart surgery as a baby and wanted to help people who were going through the same things i did. my boyfriend says we will not make it if i go to school because we will never see eachother. i cant really blame him for saying that because i just finished a med assistant course and we barely sawe eachother between studying and classes. i havent even started going to pre med school so its gonna be years and years of school. im thinking about starting a class or 2 at a community college to see how our relationship goes and since thats where i have to start anyways. i dont want to lose my boyfriend he is my best friend and we plan on getting engaged this year and we live together. i understand what hes saying but sometimes i feel as if he doesnt care about my dreams and goals. any advice would be so helpful and any first hand experiences with someone in med school or someone who isin a relationship in school would be greatly appreciated. i dont know what to do anymore.
