How could i help my hair grow faster?

I recently moved to the us from the tropics and my relaxed hair dropped out people say it is as a result of the different climatic zones and now i'm stuck with braiding my hair with extensions for the first time and i dont like it how could i grow my hair faster and do you think i should get a perm ever again... i want to but then i dont want to because i fear this may happen again your opinion is highly appreciated thank you
